Summer Grind Series: Shot Creators Camp

Description: 

Shot Creators Camp is focused on developing a player’s ability to create shots and scoring opportunities for themselves and their teammates. Players will learn techniques for creating shots in 1:1 situation, full court transition, against zone defense and capitalize on mismatch opportunities. Players will also improve their basketball IQ and decision making on the court. 

Training Focuses: 

• Shot Creating Fundamentals: Players will learn to create scoring opportunities for themselves and teammates through ball handling combinations to create space, exploiting defensive weaknesses and taking advantage defensive mismatches. Players will also learn to use ball handling moves like the crossover, between the legs and behind the back to create space and get off a shot against even the toughest defenders. 
• Shot Selection: Players will learn the importance of shot selection and develop their decision-making ability. When to take shots, how to create space and reading the defense are keys to scoring effectively.
• Offensive Awareness:  Players will work on improving their court vision through drills that help identify the open man and by participating in game scenarios that require quick thinking and decision making.
• Competition: Athletes will have opportunities to compete against each other, putting the skills they have learned to the test with 1 v 1 and 2 v 2 games.
